Connecting Art and Science
San Francisco based Paedia Fine Arts is a valuable resource for home decorators, architects, interior designers, collectors and museums. Our website features high resolution photographs of butterflies, moths, cicadas, lanternflies, insects, and plants. The photos are taken with macro and micro techniques in order to show the smallest details. Lighting is optimized for depth in order to show the contours in each subject. Most images can be enlarged to more than 36 inches (91.4 cm) without loss of detail. Our pictures can be appreciated from across a room or up close, making them a welcome addition to any room. Thanks for visiting! Welcome to our galleries! Enjoy shopping!

Small Wonders
I am pleased to announce Paedia Fine Arts’ participation in a group exhibition, titled Small Wonders, and hosted by monca, The Museum of Northern California Art in Chico, California. monca was incorporated in 2011 and is located in the former Veterans Memorial Building at 900 Esplanade in Chico, California. monca’s mission is “to make art accessible and promote awareness of Northern California artists through collections, exhibitions and educational programs.”
“Small Wonders is a juried art exhibition featuring work inspired by the beauty, mystery, and significance of the microscopic, the miniature, and the overlooked. This exhibition offers an opportunity to magnify the unnoticed and reveal worlds within worlds. Artists were encouraged to explore scale, detail, and viewpoint. Join us in remembering that even the tiniest details can hold vast meaning. Pieces of many mediums will be featured in this exhibition, positing how each artist interprets the idea of smallness and wonder differently. Visiting the Small Wonders exhibition will have you looking closer, much closer…” (…from the monca website.) See more information about this event here.
Paedia Fine Arts’ contributions in the exhibit include high resolution, enlarged images selected from the collections below: stomata, the breathing pores of plants, a lanternfly from Peru, a scarab beetle from Mexico, and a longhorn beetle from Cameroon. Close-up macro and micro photographic techniques are used to bring out details that aren’t normally seen with casual observation, enabling a deeper appreciation of the beauty in small worlds around us.

I am pleased to announce the opening of a new exhibit titled “Close-up/Details”. The exhibit is curated by my company, Paedia Fine Arts, LLC, and hosted by The Randall Museum in San Francisco, California. It is a collection of photographs of butterflies, moths, and insects. The title of the show arises from the uniqueness of the images being presented. All photographs are taken close-up to the subjects in order to reveal details that are seldom seen with casual observation. The Randall Museum is a Natural History Museum, a Science Museum, and Arts Center. There is more information about the Museum, including its location and hours, here.
The works in the exhibit are selected high resolution images from the collections below. The smallest details of insects and plants can be seen close-up and the same images can be enjoyed from across a room. All are available to purchase here on this website. Please visit the Museum and enjoy the beauty you will find there!
